About us:
Nicole Marin has been riding and involved with the training and upkeep of horses since 1977. Nicole’s love of horses started even before then, when her mother would take her along for her lessons at a young age.
Nicole learned to ride under some very tough tutelage in Germany, where she learned the basics of form and function and where she was Junior Jumping and Dressage champion numerous times.
After moving to the United States, Nicole became involved in the hunter divisions where she once again received numerous championships.
Making sure that she learned as many aspects about horses as she could, Nicole spent time in Kentucky working for a racing stable, exercising and starting young thoroughbreds that raced at Churchill Downs and other racing tracks.
After that adventure she choose to pursue her riding career and determined that since there weren’t any accredited schools for teaching in North America, she would head to the United Kingdom and become a licensed riding instructor through a BHS (British Horse Society) program.
Successfully completing the program she eventually opened her own boarding and training establishment in partnership with her parents. Nicole spent 16 years managing and training in San Jose, California where she taught and brought along young riders and horses to several Northern California Championships, and started dabbling in the breeding business standing several Stallions of her own.
After a career move moved the family to central New York, Nicole and her husband Ricky decided to downsize and focus on breeding the top equine partners that were always so hard to come by in the past. Nicole utilizes her many years of experience when she researches bloodlines and makes breeding decisions. Let her experience help guide you to your new partner.
Ricky is the foundation and the rock of everything we do at Marin Farms. As Farm Manager he is in charge of the daily feeding, cleaning and turn-out of all the horses on the property. He is the best handyman a wife could ever ask for and will always step in, in the last minute to help and haul horses, and hold then for veterinary visits as required.
The quality and workmanship of everything on the farm is the result of his hard work and his never ending passion for learning and building the foundation of our business.
Our strong family values are evident in everything we do, and we look forward to helping you find your next champion at Marin Farms.
Stop on by to take a look at our current offerings, or just stop for a chat or cup of coffee. We look forward to meeting you and extending our friendship and numerous years of expertise.
Thanks;
Nicole and Ricky Marin
